Every mum knows it can be difficult to keep kids entertained especially when they burst in the door after school, fully energised. These fun food projects will not only keep your little ones busy, but they will also boost your kids’ enthusiasm for healthy food.

The DIY Pizza: Give your kids pizza bases and let them decorate their own pizzas for dinner. Provide a healthy homemade sauce, chopped vegetables and grated cheese and let them be creative

Homemade Ice Pops: Let your children fill ice cube trays with fruit juice or smoothie mixture and place toothpicks in each one. Alternatively you can invest in special ice pop containers, which can be found in most homewares stores.

Fruit Fondue: Provide your children with some melted chocolate and chopped fruit. Give them soft fruit like peaches or bananas and let them chop the fruit themselves with a safety knife or spoon to save yourself some work.

Bread Art: Make edible paints with milk and food colouring and let your kids ‘paint’ slices of bread. Toast the bread and enjoy.
