Messy activity ideas for your kids
You may live in fear of mess most of the time, but as a child there is simply nothing better than getting marvellously muddy!

Trust us when we say that rolling around in the mud will be fun for them, and you'll have some amazing memories as a result.

Sure, there will be a few stains and all that, but sure, that's just part of life!  Check out these fantastic messy outdoor activities that the kids will adore:

1. Make mud pies
There is nothing quite like spending the day outside as a kid, especially if there is dirt and mud involved. One thing that never seems to get old is making mud pies! Countless hours piling mud on mud, on mud - it may seem simple, and almost ridiculous, but kids just LOVE it!

Will they come back inside filthy? Absolutely. Will they have had the best day ever? Absolutely.

2. Cut the grass
It may seem sort of random, but I can guarantee that your kids will spend HOURS playing around in a pile of cut grass. Yes, really! There will be stains, but there will also be smiles that last a life time.

3. Do some science experiments
We're here to tell you that science is actually really fun, especially when you get to do it in the garden. There are so many crazy colourful science experiments you can do with your little ones that will BLOW THEIR MINDS.

4. Paint fight
Okay, so this one is NOT for the faint hearted, but it will be fun - we promise. Mix some washable bright paint with water, and get your hands on some water guns and water balloons, and let loose. The stains will be next level, but the amazing memories will make it all worthwhile.

5. Build a bug hotel (yes, really)
This is actually something I loved doing as a child, and kids are still at it (years later). Putting rocks, mud, wood and flowers together to build your very own four star accommodation fit for a slug is the best way to while away an afternoon. Don't get me wrong, it is pretty gross, but when you see their toothless smiles it makes all that grossness worth it!

6. Rolling down hills
Sometimes, it is the most simple of things that provide the most entertainment. If you are lucky enough to live near any sort of hill, then you might as well live beside a theme park, because that's the level of fun you will all achieve. Start at the top, and simply roll down the hill all day long!

And don’t worry if you’re thinking between this and mud pies, the washing is going to be impossible, don’t worry - Fairy Non Bio has launched new Platinum PODs® with Extra Stain Removal, to provide a new level of clean. The new Platinum PODs® offer the same gentle care for sensitive children’s skin, now with boosted cleaning power.

7. Chalk it up
Buy a big box of colourful chalk and send them off into the garden to draw away to their heart's content. Warning: they will probably draw all over each other, but sure, that's all just part of the fun, right?

8. Plant some flowers
We seriously love this idea! Gardening is such a fun activity to do with your little ones, and it also teaches them to be nurturing (they'll love seeing their plants growing!) The best part will be just how messy it gets, because we simply adore the magic of mess.

Have fun, and get messy!
