~ 491 Primary Schools in Ireland receive an Award in Science and Maths Excellence! ~

Mums know just how important it is for kids to develop a love of maths and science from an early age which is why it’s such good news that this week it was reported by Minister Sean Sherlock, T.D. that there has been a rise in the number of schools participating in the Discover Primary Maths and Science programme. In 2012 421 across the country took place in these awards and this year 491 schools have taken part.

The Awards programme is run by Discover Science & Engineering (DSE), the education and outreach programme of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI).

The Awards of Science & Maths Excellence recognise the achievements of primary school children and teachers in the application of science and maths in the classroom.
