The cold spell has certainly hit, and now is the perfect time to invest in much-needed winter accessories for your kids. Here are seven things that you will need to keep your toddler cosy and warm when they head outside:

A scarf
To protect their little chests from the cold, you will need to wrap a scarf around them. Choose one with lots of different colours and avoid going for an adult sized one. Kids’ scarves are much shorter than our ones to stop them tripping up over it.

Hat
Go for a hat that has ear protectors to keep the chill out of your little one’s ears. This will help prevent infections and painful sore ears.

Gloves
Every little one should have a few pairs of gloves that they can pull out of the drawer before heading off out the door. There is nothing worse than cold fingers, especially if they are going to be playing outside for a while. You can pick up a fingerless pair that will make it easier for when your little one is playing outside. It is actually pretty easy to lose tiny gloves so pick up a few cheap pairs and have them around the house.

Mittens
Mittens are great at allowing the hands use their own heat to keep warm. Again they are geat if your toddler is simply sitting in the buggy or car, but they don’t work great if they are outside playing as they can become a little clumsy.

Ear warmers
Not all kids like wearing hats with many finding them quite itchy. To get over this problem, why not go for ear warmers. They will keep your little one’s ears warm without them having to wear a full on hat.

Head band
Another great way to keep little heads and ears warm is with a head band. They are ideal if you are simply just taking your little one in and out of the car and they’re not outside for long. This will fit over your child’s ears and forehead keeping them warm and snugly without overheating.

Snood
Snoods act as both a scarf and a hood and are really cute. They are ideal when your toddler is in the buggy as there won’t be any gaps for the cold to get though.
