A nine-year-old girl was learning how to shoot a gun at a shooting range in Arizona on Monday, when she accidently shot and killed her instructor.
The little girl was being instructed by Charles Vacca, 39, when she pulled the trigger and lost control of the weapon. Vacca was shot in the head and killed.
Apparently Vacca was a military veteran, and had been working at the range for two years. The operator of the range says they allow children from the age of eight to handle weapons, but have never had an accident in the ten years they have been open.
The girl was accompanied by her parents who were filming their daughter when the accident happened, and they have handed over the footage to authorities.
This is a terrible tragedy, for everyone involved. Our thoughts are with both families at this time.
