3 tbsps rapeseed oil

150ml/ 1/4 pint milk

Pinch of grated nutmeg

Ground black pepper

1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Preheat oven to Gas 4/ 180°C/350°F.

In an ovenproof dish gently sauté(on the hob) the onions in oil until they are transparent, but not brown.

Toss the beef in flour and brown in the same pot on the hob, frying in batches.

Add the remaining ingredients to the pot of onions and beef.

Add pepper and just enough water to cover.

Cover with a lid and bake for 1 hour until cooked thoroughly.

Creamed Potatoes:

Boil the potatoes for 10-15 minutes.

Drain away all of the water and mash well.

With a wooden spoon, beat the oil into the potato with just enough of the milk to make a smooth thick puree.
