Pumpkin soup
Heart warming soup which is a great family soup for Autumn.

1 medium sized pumpkin
5 potatoes - peeled and sliced
2 carrots - peeled and sliced

1 onion - peeled and diced
1 clove of garlic - peeled and chopped

1 tsp mild curry powder
Pinch of chilli powder

Salt

Herbs to serve

Prepare the pumpkin by cutting into wedges and cutting the skin off.  Dice the pumpkin flesh into large chunks. (It's a little like preparing a turnip so have a big knife ready).

Place all ingredients in a big saucepan, fill up with water.

Add the salt, curry and chili powder.

Bring to the boil and turn down to simmer for around 20 minutes.

Empty the contents of the saucepan into your liquidiser or blender or alternatively puree using an electric handwhisk.

Season to taste and serve with some brown bread and a sprinkling of herbs.
