Witch's cookies

400g Flour
200g Cornflour
400g Butter
200g Castor Sugar
Icing sugar

Put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix together.

When all the ingredients are thoroughly combined, roll out the mixture.

Cut witch shapes out of your dough. You can buy special cookie cutters or cut out cardboard templates yourself. Some ideas include a witch’s face, witch’s hat or even a witch’s broom.

Put on a baking sheet and chill for 20 minutes.

Pop into the oven for 15-20 minutes until pale golden.

Cool on a wire rack

Make the white icing by mixing the icing sugar with one tablespoon of warm water – the icing should be thick to allow you spread it on the cookie with a knife. Don’t make it too runny – if you do, add more icing sugar.

Divide the icing into separate batches and add different food colouring so you can decorate your cookies.
