A school bus driver has appeared in court for ignoring two road warning signs while driving a school bus with 23 children on board and leaving them stranded in floodwater.

The bus was going to Easingwold School in North Yorkshire when the bus driver was met with two signs signalling the road ahead was closed.

With Judge Paul Batty saying the driver brought 23 children into “floods of biblical proportions” according to The Yorkshire Post, Graham O’Sullivan was charged with dangerous driving.

Firefighters were forced the rescue the children from the floating bus.

Mr O’Sullivan denies the charge of dangerous driving but says he was careless in his driving.
