Starting ‘big school’ can be very intimidating, particularly for little ones who just love spending every spare minute with their mum and dad.

This was the case for Poppy Biddulph when she started her first day of primary school, in England, recently.

Having only previously ever spent the morning at nursery, she was naturally very nervous at the prospect of spending lunchtime – and beyond – away from home.

This is when her dad Rob stepped up to the plate, and came up with a fabulous idea.

In a bid to bring a smile to Poppy’s face, illustrator Rob decided to make a funny drawing on a Post-It and pop it into her lunchbox.

Suffice to say, Poppy winged the day – and the Post-It notes started to pop up on a daily basis.

Rob draws characters from much-loved Disney classics as well as his own quirky designs, and each one is signed off with a special note for his little darling.

In a world where social media has become an online extension of our lives, Rob decided to share his designs on Instagram – and they have gone down a total treat.

It’s not hard to see why Poppy now looks forward to school every day!
