The itch-scratch cycle is a neglected enemy!
Itching leads to scratching - we all know that. But apart from the itch being an annoying sensation, the scratching does a lot of physical damage to the skin, resulting in cuts, tears, worsening of their skin condition and in the longer term, scarring. Nobody wants to see their little one tormented, or making their condition worse, so the trick is to do something about it, beyond the regular creams you might use.
Saying "stop" doesn't work... we need something to get rid of the itch sensation so that they stop scratching - a little drop of menthol is super for this, and when combined with a moisturising base it doesn't dry the skin like our old friend calamine lotion does

Product ingredients and claims can be confusing
We see a lot of baby and kids skin cleansing products, body washes, etc that claim to be gentle, or for sensitive skin, yet still contain ingredients that aren't super gentle
A prime example of this is the cleansing ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS for short); it is too strong for sensitive or eczema skin types, and over time can lead to irritation or sensitisation, things you want to avoid; other cleansing ingredients to watch out for are sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) and cocamidopropyl betaine - all hard to pronounce and best avoided!

Facial skin is thinner and more sensitive than the skin on our bodies, in particular near the eyes; this is true for our kids too, so when they have eczema or dry, itchy rashes on their faces, we should seek out even more gentle options for them.
