Four-five years

Your child will generally need between 11 to 12 hours sleep. Some kids of this age will get all their sleep at night while others may still need a nap for an hour or two in the afternoon. A child who is in primary school or has an unusually active day may be worn out and ready to head to bed earlier than usual.

Six years
|
Your child will typically need about 10 to 11 ½ hours sleep at night at this age. By now, your child’s naps will probably be history. Some children start to have night-time fears which can make it hard to fall asleep at bedtime.

Seven- eight years
|
Your child will typically need about 9 ½ to 11 ½ hours sleep. Most children this age will get a solid 9 ½ o 11 ½ hours sleep at night. Before you know it, they will be teenagers and you’ll be wishing that they didn’t sleep so late on weekend mornings!
