How does sleep sharing work if I go to bed later than my child?

If you share a bed with your baby, and go to bed at a later time, use these helpful tips.

•    Never put your baby in an adult bed alone. Use a bassinet or crib if you will not be in the same room. When your baby wakes for the first nightly feeding, you can then put the baby in bed with you.
•    Using a baby monitor will help you not to worry so much about your baby sleeping in another room.
•    Figure out a schedule and be consistent. If you put your baby down two hours before you go to bed, stick with that timeline as close as you can. This will help your baby settle into a schedule.
•    Don’t worry about disturbing your baby’s sleep. A baby will fall asleep when they need to and will actually sleep better with a certain amount of normal household noises.
