School is just around the corner, and now is the perfect time to make sure everything is organsied and ready for September 1st.

Whether your little one is just starting or they are entering their final year of primary school, bear the following six tips in mind as you prepare for the return to the classroom.

1. Check you have all the right books

There is always one child who turns up on the first day with at least one wrong book... don't let it be yours! Double-check the book list again and ensure you have all the correct copies that they will need.

2. Make sure their uniform fits and has no holes in it

The last thing any mum wants to happen on the first day of school is to find their kid's uniform has either been savagely attacked by moths or has shrunk! Try it on your little one now so, if you do need to go get a new one, you still have time.

3. Wash their uniform so it has plenty of time to dry

If everything still fits, you should run it through the wash now not the day before - we ALL know how long it takes those wool jumpers to dry!

4. Slowly start to get the kids back to their usual bed time

Send them to bed about 15 minutes earlier every evening until they are back to their ‘normal’ bedtime. Doing it gradually will mean they won't really notice the change but will be better prepared for the early mornings.

5. Organise the study space now

Now is the perfect time to organise the study so your kids won't have any excuse not to get straight back into studying as soon as they start in September.

6. Get the kids to set goals for the year

This is a great way to get them excited about the new term and a fun way to encourage them to do the things they really want to do.
