16 people were tragically killed yesterday after the school bus they were on struck a roadside column.

Of the 50 passengers on board, most of them were students, with some teachers and parents also present.

One of those teachers, who is credited with saving many of the students on board yesterday, has tragically had to say goodbye to his own children.

Gyorgy Vigh pulled many children from the flames during the horrific accident, but his 30-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter did not survive.

The school bus was on its way back to Budapest after the students had gone on a ski trip to France.

Mr Vigh is said to be recovering in hospital with burns.
