Disney recall Toy Story 4 Forky plush toy due to choking hazard

Disney and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled an official Forky plush toy, citing safety concerns.

Forky is undeniably the breakout star of Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 4, the neurotic spork voiced by Tony Hale whose existential crisis offers much of the film's comic relief.

The character spends most of the film resisting his toy identity, declaring himself to be trash constantly and seeking the abyss of the rubbish bin at all times.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission reported that the googly eyes of the toy can potentially detach and present a choking hazard to children under three years of age.

Roughly 80,650 of the plush toys were sold across America and Canada alone. The 11-inch toy has poseable arms and a rainbow icon on the foot, which makes it easier to identify.

Plush Forky was sold at Disney Stores, Disney Theme Parks, shopdisney.com and through the Disney store on Amazon Marketplace from April to June for about €18.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission have advised customers to immediately take the recalled toy away from children and return it.

Parents who purchased the toy can get a full refund by visiting any Disney Store or Disney Theme Parks store or by emailing personal.shoppers@shopDisney.com.

Toy Story 4 is in cinemas now.
