24 separate charges have been brought against Links Creche and Montessori, in Abington, Malahide.

This comes after an explosive Prime Time investigation in which an RTE reporter secretly filmed the treatment of children at three Irish creches last year.

20 of these charges have been brought against the creche itself, while four have been brought against Deirdre Kelly, the director Links Creche.

Links is one of 10 creches owned and run by Deirdre and her husband Padraig Kelly.

The charges range from breeches in record keeping and Garda vetting regulations, to what is described by prosecuting solicitor David McCoy as "welfare type prosecutions" dealing with the alleged "disrespectful, degrading and exploitative" treatment of the children in their care.

The case was adjourned until November 18th In order to allow the defence more time to examine the prosecution’s evidence, which includes over 40 hours of CCTV footage provided by RTE.

Deirdre Kelly faces a maximum fine of €1300 per charge, and could be disqualified by the court from running a creche if convicted.
