This incredible photograph captures the moment Spanish journalist Javier Espinosa is first reunited with his son after being held hostage for 194 days.

Last September, Javier and photographer Ricardo Garcia Vilanova were taken captive in Syria by an armed group near the Iraqi border.

On Saturday, with no confirmation of how they were freed, Espinosa contacted El Mundo in Spain to say they were now in the hands of the Turkish military.

Yesterday, the pair flew into the military airport of Torrejon in Madrid and Espinosa’s young son Yerai ran to meet his father off the plane.

The joy on this father's face is priceless.
