Its World Elephant Weekend at Dublin Zoo this weekend - a great day out for all ages

Calling all explorers! Dublin Zoo is inviting adventurers of all ages to discover the joys of species big and small through a series of fun and educational weekends this month, with a World Elephant Day celebration on this weekend, and an SSE Eco Explorer Weekend after that.

During the month of August, expect fun-filled weekends including Dino Lego workshops and a chance to win a free annual pass for Dublin Zoo!

This Saturday, August 12th and Sunday, August 13th, Dublin Zoo will celebrate World Elephant Day by bringing the much loved elephant keeper talks back for one weekend only. At the Kaziranga trail, expect plenty of arts and crafts, games and fun opportunities to explore inside Haughton House. Face painting will also be available for anyone who wants to join the herd!

SSE Eco-Explorer Weekend is on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th

Pookie, Dublin Zoo's sustainability ambassador, is inviting families and friends to visit Dublin Zoo on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th for a series of interactive Eco-Explorer Experiences taking place from 1pm – 4pm at the Safari Tent.

Upon arriving at Dublin Zoo, an Eco-Ranger will issue your very own Pookie Passport, beginning the quest to collect all 10 stamps from Eco-Explorer Station Rangers around Dublin Zoo and learning important facts as you proceed through the Eco-Explorer Trail. Don’t forget to redeem your Pookie keyring once the challenge is complete, and enter to be in with a chance to win a free annual pass for Dublin Zoo!
