Mums will be glad to know that kids are happiest when they are spending time together as a family.
 
Children don’t need expensive holidays and a playroom full of toys to make them happy; new research done by IKEA shows that they treasure family meals together, learning to ride a bike and having birthday parties at home.
 
Even with the rise in the number of smartphones, iPads and computer games that tweens and teens have access to, they don’t rank as high as spending time with their mum, dad or siblings; and while their bedroom is where your little one likes to spend most of their time, communal areas like the living room and garden are valued just as much.
 
At a time when families are under increased financial pressure, it's great to know that children appreciate things that don’t have any monetary value.
