Whoever would have thought that the long-lived tradition of reading a bedtime story to children could ever be modernised?
 
It may be hard to believe, but a recent study revealed that more and more mums and dads are starting to add celebrities into popular children’s stories.
 
Rsearchers found that parents are under the impression that giving traditional tales a modern twist will make stories more interesting for their little ones.
 
Pop stars, actors and even members of the Royal family are the most popular ones added to story.
 
It was also found that the number of parents who read to their children before bed has doubled in a generation, with 33% more infants being read to sleep.
 
But, parents also wished they could spare more time to read to their little ones as many admit to cutting bedtime stories short because of busy schedules.
 
Usually, mums took on the role of the storyteller, while 26% of the time, it’s dad. Grandparents also read to their grandchildren 5% of the time.
 
All in all, the tradition is flourishing it is a tradition that continues to flourish and modernise, with one in 12 parents reading to their little ones during bath time and others doing it while their children brushes their teeth.
