Two-year-old Mariah Anderson is the latest victim of Internet trolls and her family have spoken out about their horror of what happened.

Mariah was born with a rare condition called Chromosome Two Duplication Syndrome which means she has impaired learning and motor skills.

Unfortunately, the youngster does not have a long life expectancy so it is not surprising that on her second birthday, her mum, Kyra Pringle, wanted to share a picture of the happy day on Facebook.

However, the photo was shared more than a thousand times on the social media site by people who simply wanted to insult the youngster. According to Kyra, people said nasty things about her daughter including comparing her smile to a leprechaun.

Understandably upset by the whole thing, Kyra said in conversation with WCBD: “The things you guys are saying about my child, she’s not a monster. She’s real.”

Linda Pringle, Mariah’s grandmother said: “If you’re out there and you’re doing these things, and you think that it’s funny, it’s not funny. This is actually a human being, this is a child, this is a baby.”

Sadly, this is not the first time a child has been targeted by Internet trolls. For now the family just want to put the incident behind them.
