With school set to start up again in a matter of weeks, there are two different types of parents you will meet: those who can’t wait to get back to their pre-holiday routine, and those who are devastated to say goodbye to their little darlings.

It’s likely that we have all been the sobbing parent at one point or other – and it’s usually on the very first day of ‘big school’.

However, once that tough first year is down, it seems we get infinitely more comfortable with having the mornings and early afternoons to ourselves!

This contrast has been summed up perfectly by Tennessee mum Susannah Lewis, who blogs over at Whoa Susannah.

In a hilarious and now viral video shared via Facebook, Susannah recreates the fear and devastation of leaving your little one on their first day of school.

“His teacher doesn’t know he needs 14 kisses every 45 seconds…He’s not ready!” she exclaims, as she drives away from the school gates.

However, fast-forward a year or two, and Susannah’s thoughts are taken up by very different things: “Yes! Manicure, pedicure, Vegas!”

Is it bad that we find this relatable?!

SHARE with a fellow mum who will see a little of themselves in Susannah’s sketch.
