Anyone who has moved to a new country with a young child will know that it can be a testing time. Beyond the practicalities of location, getting to know the people in your new community can be tricky: where do you meet people? How do you meet people?

Whatever about Mum and Dad making buddies, there’s a major onus on parents to ensure that their little ones aren’t lonely, and a nice circle of friends can make the adjustment process so much easier.

And so, we have to say that we love this mum’s approach to finding friends for her tot, who is almost two years old.

Without doubt, one of the cutest things I've ever seen. . . . #Dublin #Ireland #note

The following note, which has been doing the rounds on social media this week, contains a charming appeal for ‘playdates’ after moving to Dublin from London.

“Hello! We have recently moved from London to X. Our little boy is almost two. He would love to meet some little neighbours,” writes the mum. We’re already sufficiently heart-warmed!

She added: “Please get in touch if you’d like to arrange an afternoon or weekend playdate! Call or text Áine at…”

We have to agree with Richard Chambers, who shared this to Instagram: it is beyond cute – especially with that adorable teddy train at the end!

SHARE to inspire a fellow mum who is new to an area.
