For most of us, the morning is a mad panic of getting kids up, dressed, fed and out the door in time for school – and the last thing on our mind is how their hair looks.

But not Shelley Gifford.

In fact, Shelley, who lives in Melbourne, has the time to create intricate braids on her daughter’s hair, and share them on Instagram @PrettyLittleBraids.

And they are good. Really good.

Her social media account has, unsurprisingly, gained more than 100,000 followers.

The styles take about 20 minutes to do and her daughter Grace gladly sits there while her mums does her hair.

"[Grace has] always had her hair braided, since she was a toddler," Shelley told Daily Mail Australia. "She’s perfect, she sits so still because she doesn’t know any different. It's her morning quiet time."

Admitting that she leaves the more complicated braiding for the weekend, she now does her daughter’s friends’ for special occasions.

Her styles are so good they totally put our attempt at a plait to shame!

Such an amazing skill to have; our kids are lucky if we find the time to brush their hair before they leave the house, never mind do something fancy....
