A mum has become an online sensation, after sharing her inventive hack for taking care of nasty splinters.

Claire Bullen-Jones took to Facebook to share her tip, which involves using a medicine syringe.

Advising followers to ensure that the syringe is clean, she advises: “You need to make sure there’s a little bit of a gap before you start.

“Put the small hole at the bottom of the syringe as best you can over the splinter. Once you know you’re above it, make sure the syringe is touching the skin – and pull!

“Make sure there’s no gaps, otherwise you won’t get it!”

From Claire’s experience, the syringe is likely to pull the splinter out in the first go – and better still, it’s pain- and hassle-free.

“Pain-free, no tugging and pulling, and no little ones upset or scared at getting it out!” she added.

“Don’t pull it out slowly – you need to pull rather quickly. If it’s a stubborn splinter, just do this a couple of times – saves so much time, and well worth seeing the kids smile at the end of it, rather than red faces and tears!”

And the best part for us is, as the syringe is usually clear, it will show you when you have managed to nip it out.

Claire’s post has received plenty of love across Facebook, garnering more than 87,000 shares – not bad for such a simple but genius hack!

“Holy cow, is it really THAT easy?!” responded one follower, while others branded the idea ‘awesome’ and ‘so clever’.

Claire is just the latest mum to share a little slice of wisdom with the internet.

Fellow mum-blogger Amanda Hale recently shared a savvy, money-saving tip for creating your own DIY Bento box.

It was Rough Diamond that shared Amanda’s handy tip, creating a Bento box by sitting a giant ice cube tray into a regular lunchbox.

We’ll take all of the help and inspiration we can get!
