We are all aware of the benefits a little fresh air can have on us, but  kids in a nursery school in West Sussex don't have that luxury after they were banned from playing outside due to a noise complaint.

The nursery at Crawley Baptist Church, which has a small outdoor area where children can play and grow fruit and vegetables, received complaints from locals that there was “far too much noise” coming from the kids and the “giggling and laughter” was annoying.

As a result of the complaints the school has to stop the chldren’s outdoor play until an investigation has been completed.

Talking to The Crawley News, the nursery’s manager Amanda Kelly, said: "We have been here since 2003 and these are two, three and four-year-olds who are not kicking large footballs at windows. They are just small children running around and giggling. They are out there for an hour in the morning and up to an hour- and-a-half in the afternoon. It’s not such a great length of time that we’re disturbing anyone.”

Before adding: “You’re always going to get people who are grumpy and don’t like children.”
