Most kids ask Santa for toys and gadgets, but not seven-year-old Isla Kerr, whose only wish is for her stolen dog to be returned.

The family’s Boston terrier, Dolly, who is blind and requires daily medication, was stolen from outside a shop in West Yorks, and Isla desperately wants him back.

In conversation with the Mirror, the youngster’s mum, Vanessa, explained how her daughter said that “Santa can do anything” and so set about writing to him.

Her letter reads:

"Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is my dog to come back. I do not care about presents, all I care about is my dog Dolly to comeback. I miss her so much and love her. Love Isla Kerr xxxx.”

Explaining how Dolly and Isla are inseparable, Vanessa added: "She’s so upset that someone has her, and none of us are sleeping. It’s just such an awful feeling not knowing where she is, when she’ll be so desperate to come home.”

“All we can do is just urge whoever has her to give her back, even if they just leave her somewhere where she will be found. Please think about a little girl who wants her dog home for Christmas.”
