Busy promoting her latest movie, Arrival, where she plays a linguist you’d think things like teaching her six-year-old daughter, Aviana to read would be a little easier, but apparently not.

“Ultimately, I’m not the best teacher for her,” Amy told ET.

The actress said she finds it tough to handle when her little girl isn’t picking things up as quickly as she’d like.

“I want for her so bad. She can feel my anxiety and I have to remember to calm down and that she’ll get it in her own time, but we have fun with it. We laugh a lot.”

Amy’s co-star, Jeremy Renner also spoke about teaching his three-year-old Ava and joked it won’t be long till she passes him out.

"When you're teaching a three-and-a-half-year-old anything, you have to keep it fun," he said about teaching his daughter math.

"It's going to be difficult when she's going to know more math than me probably when she's eight."
