There is relief for a grieving mum and dad today as a laptop containing images and videos of their deceased daughter, Chloe, has been returned to them.

Chloe McCance, from Bangor in Co. Down was eight-years-old when she passed away earlier this month after suffering with Batten’s Disease since she was just 18-months-old.

Her parents, Lydia McCance and Kevin Rees were heartbroken to discover a laptop with photos of their daughter, as well as slideshows created for her funeral, had been stolen when their home was broken into just days after their daughter’s death.

Sadly, the thieves also ransacked Chloe’s room, which her parents had found it difficult to go into since her death, her mum Lydia described the horrifying moment: “I went into the hall and discovered her bedroom door was open which just wasn’t right because we have not been in that room since her funeral.”

Now, Lydia has thanked those who shared her posts and pleas as she has the laptop back in her possession: “Wanna say a big thank you to everyone who has shared my posts, sent messages, donated money and everything else. You have all helped give me that little bit of faith that there is decent ppl out there. I now have my laptop back in my possession ...thanks so much for all your support.”
