A Kentucky teacher is facing a fourth-degree assault charge after footage emerged showing her pulling a six-year-old boy along the floor by his wrists.

Ashley Silas was fired from her teaching position after the footage and details of the shocking incident emerged from CCTV camera recording in the school.

However, after appealing her case to a review panel, Ms Silas went on to regain her position at the school this week.

Naturally, the six-year-old’s parents were horrified by how the case progressed, and have now brought charges against her.

Now, Ms Silas is facing a fourth-degree assault charge, with sources estimating that the boy – who has been diagnosed with ADHD – was dragged a total of 160 feet.

The child’s father told WAVE news: “If I had done something like that in a public setting I would not be here talking to you. I would be in jail.”

Ms Silas, meanwhile, has claimed that the child enjoyed sliding down the corridor floor, something which the boy himself has denied.

It seems we are hearing more and more of these shocking stories of late. Earlier this month, former teaching assistant Rachael Regan appeared in court on charges of child cruelty after targeting a seven-year-old child.
