Futa Fata is delighted to present two new picture book titles from two very talented writer and illustrator teams.

About the books: Mise agus an Dragún (The Dragon Hunter), written by Patricia Forde, illustrated by Steve Simpson  is about a littler bear who dreams of being a Dragon Hunter.  Though brave, he is just ever so slightly nervous of dark forests and high trees, just about everywhere you may expect to find a dragon!
Ní mise a rinne é! (It wasn’t me!), Bridget Bhreathnach, illustrated by Donough O’Malley, tells the story of little Séimí who has many friends….nearly all of them imaginary!  These friends get him into strife with his Mom, who never believes that ‘it wasn’t him’!

About the Authors: This is Patricia Forde’s third picture book with Futa Fata.  A former Drirector of the Galway Arts festival and  co-founder of international children’s arts festival, Babaró,  Patricia’s other children’s books include ‘Frogs do not like Dragons’ and ‘Hedgehogs Do not like heights’, published by Egmont in London. Bridget Bhreathnach’s second book with Futa Fata coincides with the birth of her second child – her first picture book, Lúlú agus an Oíche Ghlórach has been published in Chinese and Scots Gaelic as well as being warmly received here in Ireland.

About the Illustrators: Award winning artist Steve Simpson is a regular Futa Fata collaborator.  His unique style and vintage inspired palette brings an exciting dimension to his books.     Monaghan man, Donough O’Malley has a quirky style that breathes fun and frolics into the stories he illustrates.  His previous work for An Coileach Codlatach, (The Sleepy Rooster, Futa Fata 2011) has been selected to appear in the prestigious White Ravens Exhibition 2012, showcased at this year’s Bologna Book Fair.
