Number Stax is an arcade-like puzzle game app for adults and students over the age of 12. It is now available in the App Store for €1.59 and has been launched by global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH). The standalone app was developed by the company’s learning division, which is known for the iconic Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? and The Oregon Trail brands.
This app is said to make math accessible and fun. It offers valuable math fundamentals practice through solving number problems and algebraic equations. Players must strategically arrange integer and operation tiles to score points. They can swap tiles, freeze the game against a timed clock, and collect bonus points. The better you get at the game you get, the faster it will go, and the game ends when the tiles reach the top of the screen.
This is not just a game to improve your math skills, but is great fun for anyone who enjoys puzzles. There are 20 levels of difficulty, an instructional tutorial with directions and tips, and interfacing with Apple Game Centre to enable players to publish their achievements.
Number Stax is available for all Apple IOS devices including iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
