It is important to give each of your kids one-on-one time and while it can be tricky trying to fit everything in during the day, both of you will benefit from it greatly.
Here we list a number of fantastic ideas for a girlie day out with your daughter, but don’t worry we have ideas for your son here.
1. Get your hair done
There is nothing quite like sitting in a chair having your hair washed and dried by a professional, and your youngster might enjoy it just as much as you. Plus we all need to get our hair cut so you could do this before a big occasion!
2. Enjoy brunch
Head out for your local café on a Saturday or Sunday morning and enjoy a tasty late breakfast or early lunch. You can spend time getting to know each other and it also provides a great opportunity for your youngster to talk to you about things that might be worrying her.
3. Do each other’s nails
If money is tight why not spend an afternoon doing each other’s nails. You can pick up polish fairly cheaply and most kids love doing their mum’s nails. Just make sure you do this on the weekend otherwise your youngster might get in trouble in school!
4. Watch a movie at home
Rent a movie from the DVD store or choose something you both like on Netflix. Pick up some popcorn and a few treats and cuddle up on the couch.
5. Go shopping
If you are on a budget but your youngster could really do with some new clothes, why not head to a charity shop and let them choose something nice.
6. Make friendship bracelets
Pack up some thread, beads and buttons and head to your local park on a sunny day to make friendship bracelets. You can bring a picnic along and spend the afternoon enjoying some nice food and precious quality time.
7. Exercise together
If you fancy doing something a little more active, why not pop on your running shoes, put your little one on their bike and head for an hour to pound the pavements.
