A mum has shared possibly the most compelling reminder ever for parents to ensure their children’s car seats are correctly fitted.

Jenna Casado Rabberman was recently involved in a car accident with her two children, aged six weeks and two years.

Thankfully, she is ‘fine’ and her sons ‘escaped without a scratch’ – but a paramedic told her that things would have been a whole lot different had she not ‘taken the extra two minutes to be sure they were buckled correctly’.

Posting a photo of her mangled car and the two perfect car seats, Jenna explained that she was driving home from the preschool collection when the incident occurred.

While just ‘minutes from home’, Jenna’s vehicle was ‘slammed’ by a car that ran a red light.

As you can see, the accident was extremely serious.

“THIS is why you buckle your kids into their car seats correctly every SINGLE time,” she wrote.

“Even when they scream because the straps are tight. Even when they complain about the chest clip or being rear-facing.”

Indeed, it seems as though Jenna’s diligence with her children’s car seats saved her children’s lives.

“I will be fine, my kids are fine – everything else can be replaced. Sending thanks to God for keeping us safe (along with Honda, Graco and Chicco),” she wrote.

Jenna’s post went completely viral across social media, garnering almost a quarter-of-a-million shares on Facebook alone.

With so many people commenting on her post, Jenna felt compelled to reach out to her broader audience.

“I really only posted this for family and friends, but hopefully it will save a life by making someone think twice about buckling their child in,” she added.

We are so relieved to hear that Jenna and her little ones were OK, and we are certain that her important post will go on to save lives.
