The best thing about using a relative for child care is that you can be fairly certain that your child’s best interest is at heart. Problems can arise however, when your relative is not respectful of your wishes, or you are not respectful of them.
Make sure to regularly discuss anything that is bothering you about the situation. Also, as you would with any other caregiver, ask how things are going with your child.
