Is it safe to give my toddler rice milk if she won't drink cows or soymilk?

If your child is over the age of one year, it is safe for her to drink rice milk. Some children just don’t like cows or soymilk, and others are allergic to dairy and soy products.
It’s important to remember though, that rice milk lacks many of the nutrients that cow’s milk offer.

Make sure that the rice milk you buy has added vitamins and minerals, and that you serve it with fortified cereals. Also remember that rice milk contains no protein, so you will need to ensure that your child has plenty of other proteins in her diet to make up for the imbalance
.
When choosing rice milk, it’s also important to make sure that you choose a whole fat version, unless there’s a heart condition or obesity problem that your doctor has advised you on. That’s because fat is important to brain development.

If your child does not like the taste of plain rice milk, either buy a flavoured commercial version, or add a flavouring of your own.
