Luckily, there are lots of ways that your child can get enough protein without eating meat. In fact, many foods excluding some fruits and fats contain a certain amount of protein. For instance, a glass of milk and one egg can provide your child's daily protein requirements.
Protein is an essential part of our diet because it provides energy, aids with growth, and allows the body to repair itself.
Here are some good sources of protein for your child:

- 500ml of milk contains about 16g of protein
- A medium slice of cheese pizza contains roughly 7gams
- An egg contains 7 grams of protein.
- 100g of cottage cheese has an impressive 13 grams.
- A 227g container of fruit yogurt has 10 grams, and Greek yogurt has even more than regular yogurt
- Even grains like lentils, quinoa, bread and pasta are souces of protein
