You’ll find at this age that any funny-sounding names, rhymes or silly songs will amuse your child no end. It is thought that a child’s sense of humour is learned and not inherited, so it is possible to help your child to acquire a good sense of humour.
For instance, if you call something by the wrong name, especially if your child knows what the right one is, will have her in fits of laughter - such as “the doggie is meowing”. You can also help your child to play with the sounds of words and make up silly rhymes, such as, “I love Mommy flommy trommy - she will find this highly amusing.
You child will also love it if you play dumb and say things like, “Where is my phone, where have I put it?” when you are holding it in your hand. Making deliberate mistakes will also really amuse her. For instance, watch what happens when you try to put your child’s sock on her hands, or perhaps her pants on his arms - she will roll about laughing at this!
