Tip 2: Give them some food for thought

Let's face it there are lots of rainy days here in Ireland, so we were delighted to be asked to take part in a fun Family activity for IKEA that would keep the girls entertained on one of these days.  The children's food market stall was really easy to assemble and the girls really enjoyed picking out what fruit and vegetables we would stock. Their soft texture, almost like a cuddly toy made them really inviting to explore and play with. The giant broccoli was my favourite as I have been trying to get the girls to try it for months with no success. At the end of our fun hour playing shop with the fruit and vegetable market stall, I took the girls into the kitchen and got them to help me wash and prepare the real broccoli and carrots for dinner. That evening at dinner, for the first time ever, the girls tried a little broccoli! This is a great activity for a rainy day (and fussy eaters)! We learned lots about veggies, healthy eating and shopping all while having quality time and lots of fun!
