Kirstie Allsopp has recently admitted to secretly enjoying household chores such as ironing, because it keeps her ‘sane’.

The 42-year-old says that she and her friends find comfort in doing repetitive house tasks because they’re therapeutic and claims all women feel the same way.

The co-host of Location, Location, Location said: “I’m absolutely convinced that those repetitive tasks that one does every day, organising and regularising one’s home, and keeping it tidy, is enormously therapeutic. I know it is for me, and I have many, many working mum friends who feel the same.”

Just last month, she shared her thoughts on the use of the term ‘housewife,’ she felt that it is ‘rude’ and disrespectful to use such a word, especially considering how much effort mums put into keeping things together at home.

The 42-year-old star also pointed out that cleaning the house isn’t the only thing required to stay sane, she explained:

“Being able to have the time to have a coffee with the friend, just having that human contact with another mum is also really important.”
