Ever since my daughter reached the age of weaning, she was always difficult at eating her food. She would go through stages where she would only pick at her food. A good method I found when spoon feeding her, was to distract her. Tell her to look at something out the window or someone else in the room. This way, when I went to put the spoon in her mouth, she would open it without even thinking, like a natural reflex. Now, at the age of one, she is still difficult, but I have found giving her food she can eat herself easily (boiled egg, toast, biscuits, banana, chicken nuggets etc.) she eats alot more. Another thing I was doing at first was giving her enough time. Sometimes it could take her an hour to eat her dinner but once she eats it i dont mind! Also, I would have never guessed milk would affect her appetite. When she turned one, I took her off the sma and put her on the cows milk and she loved it! It got to the stage where she wouldnt even drink anything but milk! She started going off her food again. So I tried her on the Heinz baby juice and found that she also enjoyed drinking that, and when I changed to only giving her cows milk at night, her apetite increased alot! Hope this is helpfull to some of you!
