So life is already rather busy since these little babies arrived and they are not even home yet! Following my last post, Róisín got her breathing support removed much quicker than previously anticipated and she is doing great without it, as are the other two. They have moved three times since then – firstly to a different room in intensive care so they could be together in a smaller room, then...

So what is life like a week on from the eventful day of Thursday 23rd July? Well, Friday and Saturday were emotional days to say the least. Recovering from the speed at which we became Mum and Dad, missing my brother-in-law's wedding, recovering from a C-section, along with discomfort and moving from my beloved Monica's Ward where I felt like I was surrounded by a family of midwives. I was...

Pictures of our Living With Triplets' gorgeous newborns to follow... So after an eventful day reaching my 29 th week, I did not realise that the next day was going to be the day we had been waiting for. I woke around 5am for my heartbeat trace with the night midwife. The trace is due to take approximately 20 minutes but on this morning all the babies were playing up a bit. They kept...

So, I got to 29 weeks yesterday, however it was not without its ups and downs! The previous day, one of the girls I had made good friends with on the ward ended up being sectioned with her twins, as the heartbeats kept dropping. It was a tough day for me, with my new friend of twins leaving; especially after the other two friends I had made left the day before as well. The first day of my 29 th...

So today I am 28 weeks – hurray! I really didn't think we would get this far when I was admitted to hospital with absent flow on Baby One on 3rd July. The chances for the three little babies have increased significantly now I have reached Week 28. I had my growth scan today and Baby One is certainly a little fighter and has grown the most out of the three of them! Baby One is 2lb, Baby Two...

Had another scan yesterday and all the babies are behaving. They is forward flow through the umbilical cord to each of them so hopefully they are growing well. They are still closely monitoring me and I am being very well cared for. I will continue to have scans every other day and just hope I can get a bit further before the babies need to be delivered. The consultant was very pleased I got to 27...

So the dip of the roller coaster on Friday improved on Saturday. The babies have been wriggling around so much since I arrived in The Coombe, although I wasn't sure if it was because they loved it in here or hated it. My amazing consultant came in on her day off - and the start of her holiday - to scan me on Saturday morning as she didn't want me to wait until Monday. I am pleased to say...

I'm discovering that life when expecting triplets is a roller coaster. We had our worries with one of the babies having too much fluid behind its neck earlier in the pregnancy, but after that resolved itself, I seemed to be taking it all in my stride. However, the last two weeks have certainly felt like I'm stuck on a some scary theme park ride. Week 24 and I am told Baby One and Two are...

So I had my steroids on Monday and Tuesday and as advised, I enjoyed two sleepless nights. Getting me in practice for what’s in store once the little ones are born, I suppose! I am experiencing really bad heartburn and thank goodness I mentioned it to my consultant because she recommended a prescription-Zantac, which has really helped. I went back for a scan on Wednesday to see how these...

This week, I had my 24-week scan and took all my maternity benefit forms to be filled in by the doctor. I also took in my health and safety leave forms. I don’t get sick pay from my company but I might be entitled to health and safety leave because working in general is putting me at risk of pre-term labour. Fingers crossed my application gets approved! At the scan, everything seemed to be...
