This week’s shop took much less time as I now know where most of the items I needed are located in the store. Again the store wasn’t overly busy so there was no battling my way around the aisles which I hate. We decided to have a BBQ given the fine weather so I picked up some Striploin Steaks at €4.29 each for Desy and myself. I had planned to take a picture of these when they were cooked...

Week 3 with 2 additional teenage guests from France in the house I really wasn't quite sure if €100 would do 8 of us! I ventured alone this week for my weekly shop to focus. With no calculator in hand off I went. This week I will admit to stocking up on burgers, chicken nuggets, pizzas, crisps and bakery goodies along with the norm. I was pleasantly surprised to find the fresh Inisvale...

Our shopping adventures this week I took my younger two daughters aged 10 and 12 respectively. I knew I would have to keep a watchful eye as there was a strong possibility of my trolley filling up with goodies. There was lots happening in our local Lidl this weekend with family fun and bargains to be had. The shop was very busy although we had waited to avoid the madness of the Family Day. With...

Now that the sun is making its first real attempt to shine, the flip flops have been retrieved from the back of the wardrobe and my better half has dusted down the outdoor furniture in preparation for BBQ season! I’ve made a new discovery at Lidl..... Tapas! There is literally nothing better to enjoy when you get in from work and catch the last hours of sunshine in the back garden. Even easier...

I completed this week’s shop on Saturday afternoon. Again the shop was quite quiet but that might have been due the nice weather we were having. It was easier this week as I had fairly good idea of the layout of the shop and, as I tend to buy the same items each week I was able to identify most of what I needed immediately. Some of the bargains I got this week were an extra-large chicken for...

Off I went a little later than normal on a sunny Saturday morning for my second weekly shop! I decided to go to a different Lidl and choose the one in Nutgrove. This store was definitely busier than the Stillorgan one and by the time I arrived (around 11am) a lot of the bakery goods were sold out. However, I was again impressed by the huge range and the quality of the fruit and veg. I carried out...

My second's week shopping in Lidl was even more successful than the first! I had a much better idea of where the items I needed were located within the supermarket, added to the fact that I visited on a weekday morning so it was nice and quiet and the shelves had all been restocked from the night before. I was tempted again by the fresh bakery smells and I bought a stunning pumpkin seed...

Week 1 So I headed out on Saturday morning as I always do for our weekly shop but this week I headed to Lidl in Stillorgan. I probably had the same preconceived ideas everyone but I was pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was that there was no shortage of parking and no queuing at the checkout. This is great when you are used to checking out taking at least 10 minutes of your busy...

Week 1 My son is making is his First Communion this weekend and we are having the family back to our house afterwards for a party. I’ll be keeping it simple with a buffet and some quiches. The most time consuming part of making a quiche is the pastry, so imagine my delight when I spotted pre-made short-crust pastry in the refrigerator section in Lidl! Because it was refrigerated rather than...

Week 1 So off we trotted to our local Lidl store in Bray armed with our shopping list and our hyper children. First thing I noticed that the store wasn’t too busy given it was a Sunday afternoon. We got a parking space right outside the entrance and there was no problem getting a trolley. Having never really shopped in Lidl before it took just a little longer to identify some items as we are...
